Purpose of the W.N.Y. Softball Hall of Fame
The Western New York Softball Hall of Fame was established in 1965 to honor the men and women of WNY who have made a special contribution to the game of softball. The Hall of Fame does not honor only those who were the best players or the most successful. The Hall of Fame honors those who have contributed to make the game of softball more fun to play, more exciting to watch and more appealing to become involved with. This includes players, managers, coaches, umpires, sponsors, administrators, fans and friends of the game of softball. It selects its members from all levels of play, from major fast pitch to recreation level slo-pitch. Those individuals selected for induction into the Hall of Fame can be very proud of what they have accomplished during their careers and are now assured that they have not been forgotten.
History of Organization

The W.N.Y. Softball Hall of Fame was founded and organized in 1965 by its first president, the late Joe Brandt. The first induction took place in the old War Memorial Stadium before a Buffalo Bisons baseball game with thousands of people watching. Since that time 42 induction ceremonies have been held. The men and women in the Hall of Fame have proven themselves the best at their level of participation in the sport of softball. Tonight we welcome the 43rd class to be inducted. Its past we celebrate tonight, its future is on the ball diamonds of today.
The President’s Award
The highest award presented by the W.N.Y. Softball Hall of Fame is the PRESIDENT’S AWARD.
It is given to an individual who has exhibited many years of outstanding service to the W.N.Y. Softball Hall of Fame and the game of softball in Western New York. There have only been 4 of these awards presented over the last 50 years.
The honorees are:
